HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to 2015!

Happy New Year!  I'm so grateful to all of you for making 2014 such a great year!  Whether you purchased products, cheered me on, shared my Facebook posts or just simply visited my shop.  You were apart of making it a great year!  I can't wait to see what 2015 brings!

I don't normally make resolutions although 2 years ago my husband and I both quit smoking (that was rough but SO worth it)!  This year I decided to make a list of goals both personal and professional and I wanted to share some of them with you!

I actually only have TWO personal goals (cause I'm really kind of perfect so there's not much need for improvement - totally joking)

1. Lose the 30+ pounds I gained when I quit smoking by eating better and exercising daily. Seems simple right - not so much!  But I'm doing the best I can!  
2. Be more patient.  I tend to have control issues that cause me to lose my cool more often than I'd like so I'm learning to check myself by counting to five and asking if it's really a big deal.  My husband and kids make fun of me for saying I.N.B.D. (It's No Big Deal) but so far it works for me! 

Now I have about 15 professional goals of which I'm only going to share a few.  I won't be ready to share the rest until later this year when they become more of a reality (fingers crossed).

1. Making products in advance so they are ready to ship when you order therefore cutting down on the processing times of all orders.  
2. Blog more often!  With social media outlets changing and limiting so much of what you see, this seems like the best way to keep in touch.  I'm going to start a weekly "have you met" type of post that features a different product every week.  
3. Add more products and sizes!  I've got a running list of things to make and add some of which I will be doing VERY soon!  
4. I'm going to reopen a website as well.  I do love Etsy but there's only so much you can do.  Especially with sale and coupons!  No date has been set yet but it'll be soon I hope!
5. Be more organized!  Isn't that every shop owners goal! :) 
6. Update all product photos

I hope that you are as excited about this year as I am!  I feel truly blessed to be able to do what I love everyday!  Thank you for allowing me that opportunity!

SEMI-VACATION TIME

From now through January 7th, we will be on a semi-vacation type schedule!  With the holidays coming and the kids being out of school for what seems like FOREVER this year, We've decided that this year, we would fill the shop with all the remaining inventory and ship out orders as they came in but would NOT be filling or taking and custom orders until the new year. That means that if products sell out, we will not be restocking them until January 8th. There's a possibility we might do some production here and there but we are making no promises until after the new year! :)  We will however, be shipping orders out everyday!  AND the shop will remain open through-out our "vacation".  The only days we will physically close down the shop are December 31st and January 1st for end of year inventory!

This year has been an amazing one for us both personally and professionally and we look forward to whatever 2015 brings!  We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Basically we're trying to decide between the Exfoliating Body Cleanser (which we might be renaming soon) or the Body Polish Sugar Scrub!

Both are amazing at removing dead skin cells while moisturizing and scenting your skin. One creates a creamy foam as it's used and one does not.

Again, what is your preference? 2014 Price Changes - REVISED

I'm beyond thrilled to announce that the post below is being changed slightly due to an amazing supplier of mine securing better pricing and passing those savings on to me so that I can pass them along to you!  It really does pay to stick with companies that you trust and communicate with!  So - I'm dying to tell you that the prices announced earlier are changing!  Here's the NEW break down! ^^^^^ Did you all see that????  That's right!!  Not only will Deodorant prices NOT be going up they are actually going DOWN!!!!  I've already changed all the pricing on Etsy and the Website (Note: Etsy prices are slightly higher due to selling fees - I'll be working on that next) The price increase will take effect on February 1st! :)
A few weeks ago I talked about how the prices would be changing in 2014.  As a business owner there is nothing I dread more than having to increase prices.  I try to keep them as low as possible but I refuse to buy cheap ingredients or use "fillers" in my products to cut costs.  I also use dependable and reputable suppliers for this reason.  I've tried using others suppliers and other ingredients hoping to reduce the product costs before but the end result was a poor quality product and I won't sell poor quality anything!  As a result, my suppliers have, over the course of the last 6-8 months, increased the cost of some supplies, ingredients and containers which meant sitting down with my really old adding machine and punching numbers!  The good news - some products are getting a price DECREASE which will take effect today! 

So, without further ado, here's what products are increasing and decreasing and what the prices will now be.

What's NEW in the New Year? Just about everything!

Now that we are taking a short break for the holidays to recharge our batteries and take advantage of this special time of year to see family and friends and just generally have a relaxing holiday.  I've had a little time to reflect on what I would like to do with SO many ideas I've had since August but no time to put them into play.

Well, now's the time to make a few changes!  First to change are the WEBSITE and ETSY Shop.  Some changes will be subtle and some will be much more noticeable.  In the ETSY Shop, I'll be mostly just updating photos and descriptions and shipping charges (some were not up to date since the Post Office raised their rates last year) but also adding some new things and just some general cleaning up.

The more noticeable changes will be on the Website.  I've been keeping a close eye on what scents/fragrances sell for what types of products.  Because of the data I've collected regarding my own line, I've decided that the best way to display products is to have them listed individually for every product in each category.  THIS way, certain scents that sell best as Soaps and Deodorants won't be available as Roll-On Perfumes or Body Mists, and items that sell best as Body Mousse and Silky Body Lotions won't be available as Shaving Bars or Whipped Soaps.  Now these are just examples and I did not compile a list of anything just yet officially.  I'm going to start by listing what I have IN STOCK and adding on from there.  This will be better for inventory and special scents especially and for seasonal products as well!  But DON'T WORRY - I'm not getting rid of any of the current scents - but I will be adding a few of the old ones back in!!!  I took a poll not to long ago of what scents you missed the most and it was clear to me that some fragrances needed to be brought back but maybe just not in every product! 

I'm sad to say that there will be a slight price increase for several products beginning February 1st.  I noticed in October that several of my supplies had gone up in price but I wasn't sure how it affected the current pricing because I had not had time to sit down and go over all the costs - which I will be doing over the next week. 

Those are just a few of the things I will be trying to accomplish over the next week or two.  So, if you are reading this feel free to post here or on the Facebook Page of what scents you'd like to see in what products!!

Fragrance List Changes.....

Oh hello there! Is it obvious how much I neglect this poor blog?  *sigh* I always say I'll do better but here we are again.... 3months have gone by with not a word.  I have no excuse so I'll just try to do better in the future! 

Ok - so here's the news.  I took an extended vacation (2 1/2 weeks - woo woo).  It was greatly needed I swear!  Running your own business can sometimes be a never ending and overwhelming experience.  It got to the point earlier this year where I was barely sleeping and starting to lose my patience within my household (unacceptable) so I took a break.  It's been VERY nice.  I got some much needed remodeling done and some organizing too.  We joked because our Spring Cleaning happened in Summer - but at least it happened!! 

During my little hiatous, I realized that I could not possibly be a one woman show and offer 59 different deodorants.  It was simply too much to keep up with.  SO, earlier this week, I decided to cut back dramatically on my scent list.  For the rest of August I'll be stocking 27 scents total on a regular basis and as of the first week in September that number will drop to 18 (5 of which will be Men's scents). 

While I know some of you will be upset by the change in scents, please know that I'm NOT discontinuing these scents forever!!!  I'll be adding a Custom Order form to my site where you can contact me and request a certain scent (if I don't have it on the regular list) and order products like, Bath Bombs, Bubble Bars, Soaps, Whipped Soap and Samples in bulk form.  Products such as Deodorants, Perfumes, Mists, Body Mousse, Body Polish, Silky Body Lotion will also be available as individual products but in larger sizes.  More info on that next week after I finish updating the website.

I could not be more excited!!! 7 years ago I sold my very first bar of soap at a craft show and it still feels like just yesterday! :)

 

 

Now, so there's no worries, I DO NOT plan on closing the Etsy Shop anytime soon! I plan on keeping it open as for quite some time. There will be a limited number of items in it and probably a lesser variety than what is carried on the website! My goal will be to eventually have a very limited number of items in the Etsy Shop and have the majority of products on the website by the end of the year!

I'm excited about the new website because not only is it much easier to maintain from my end (updating, printing orders etc) but it has a lot of wonderful features! You can register so you can keep track of all your orders and make checking out easier, leave reviews for every product, check your orders status, make a wish list, purchase gift certificate and more!!

Plus, you can PIn products to Pinterest, Share them via Facebook and/or Tweet them on Twitter!!!

A Year in Review

In all honesty, I have no idea how to thank you all for this year!  And I don't just mean the sales figures either!  I mean sticking with me and supporting me while I arranged and rearranged and rearranged scents, products, descriptions, websites, shops, newsletters, blogs etc over and over again! 

Your support and encouragement this past year gave me the confidence to expand and grow even more!  I have met some AMAZING people this year and I am extremely lucky!!!  Since taking over Spa Therapy's line in January 2012 it has been a whirlwind - all good things of course!!!

I am truly blessed to have the greatest customers on the face of the planet!  2013 is sure to be another amazing year and I hope to build and grow even more as a business and as a person.

One of the things I like to tell myself and my kids is that "There is ALWAYS room for Improvement"  I shall never assume I know everything about my craft, otherwise there is nothing left for me to learn - therefore, no way for me to improve or expand.  Evolving as a business (in my mind) is an essential way to keep things fresh and most importantly FUN!

So with that, I promise to make 2013 VERY fun and fresh!!  I will always provide you with awesome customer service, fresh products, specials and the very BEST line of products that I can give you! 

I'm not sure what this year will bring but I am so excited about it!!  THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to do what I love to do and supporting me this far!  If it weren't for your patronage and support, I wouldn't be where I am today!!!

Changes in Price Coming Soon....

Unfortunately due to the rising cost of supplies and shipping, you'll start to see some increases in prices before the beginning of next week.  Know that I do try to keep my prices competitive, while also making sure that my costs are covered.  I never raise prices just to raise prices. 

Products on the rise: Body Mousse 2oz & 4oz,  Mask Therapy 2oz and .5oz Samples, Vegan Deodorant Sticks, Silky Body Lotion (all sizes), Whipped Cream Soap 2oz, and Roll-On Perfume Oils.  (Any Gift Sets or Combo packs containing these products may see an increase as well)

Products that are going down in price:
Skin Dessert Refreshing Body Mist 2oz and 4oz, Vegan Lip Balms, Beeswax Lip Butter and Herbal Skin Toner 5oz. (Any Gift Sets or Combo Packs containing these product may see a decrease as well)

All other products will remain the same.  I will begin changing the prices today and hopefully get them all switched out before the end of the week.
