This Mama duck was the one that was nesting in the broken tree stump near our house. Saturday morning, we woke up to find that Mama duck had 3 babies. Sunday morning we woke up to find that Mama duck had 9 babies! That's right I said 9 babies!!!They are absolutely precious and the cutest things I have ever seen but I am now living on a duck farm apparently! :0) We are now the proud owners of 13 ducks and we still have a duck nesting in our garage!
Mama duck took her babies down to our pond this morning and let them waddle through the small stream that runs off it. She is a good mother and will only allow me to get so close. Hence the far away picture. Yesterday she ran off our big black lab because he got too close to her and the babies.
Exciting isn't it?
